NeoTool Customer Achieves ‘Top 25 Connected Healthcare Facility’ Recognition

Radiology Consultants of Iowa Recognized in Health Imaging & IT Magazine's Annual Benchmarking Study

PLANO, Texas, September 14, 2007  Radiology Consultants of Iowa (RCI) was recognized recently in the August edition Health Imaging & IT as being one of the "Top 25 Most Connected Healthcare Facilities" in the US.

"Radiology Consultants of Iowa's commitment to innovation and advancements in radiology workflow make them truly inspiring partners," stated Phil Guy, CEO of NeoTool. "It is very satisfying to see our customers receive national recognition for their results in streamlining workflow and connecting physicians enabled by NeoTool's solutions. RCI's recognition as a Top 25 Most Connected Healthcare Facility is extremely well deserved."

Over 600 healthcare facilities submitted entries for a period studied from May 4 – June 8, 2007. Factors for consideration within the 45 questions included the percentage of the facility that is filmless, percentage of digital procedures, number departments and modalities that share images and the level of ease in which referring physicians and in-network physicians can access electronic images. The 2007 benchmarks were made more stringent due to 39 organizations out of the 600 entries meeting the 2006 criteria.

RCI uses NeoTool's interface engine to drive their workflow. Through innovation and dedication, RCI has created a network of remote referring facilities that can exceed the quality and service level usually found at large, urban facilities.

"We are honored to be recognized by Health Imaging & IT as a Top 25 Connected Healthcare Facility. We believe what we are doing is a model for the future that other physician groups should consider. Certainly the recognition is exciting. Even more rewarding is that through our RIS-driven workflow, our physicians are more productive, happier, and workflow is steadier throughout the day," said Joe Moore, CIO, Radiology Consultants of Iowa.

Joe continued, "We've seen a 180 degree turn from a year ago. No longer does the impression exist that the quality of service at local hospitals is less than that of urban or university hospitals. To know that we are playing a part in increasing the quality of care by the family physician as well as the quality of care for our community is the greatest reward."

RCI's forward-thinking strategy has been a catalyst in leveling the playing field for local and remote healthcare facilities. Enrolling referring physicians in taking ownership of the RIS-driven workflow and dedication to bridging the gaps in connectivity has provided a national model for improving the accuracy and efficiency in radiology turnaround time.
