Former CIO of the Year, Edward Marx, to Provide Keynote Presentation at Corepoint Health User Conference

Corepoint Connect 2015 is the fourth-annual Corepoint Health user group conference and will feature health IT education and product training

Dallas – June 2, 2015 – One of healthcare’s leading chief information officers, Edward Marx, will speak at Corepoint Connect 2015, Corepoint Health’s fourth-annual user conference, Sept. 30-Oct. 2, in Plano, Texas. Marx is currently the executive vice president at the Advisory Board Company and chief information officer at NYC Health & Hospitals Corporation.

While Marx was the CIO at Texas Health Resources he was named the 2013 HIMSS/CHIME CIO of the Year. Marx left Texas Health Resources in April 2015.

Marx's first book, "Extraordinary Tales from a Rather Ordinary Guy," was published in 2014.

“Most people I meet have accepted their lives as they are and have given up hope of achieving the extraordinary. I come from humble beginnings, I do not have a superior intellect and I do not consider myself special by any means,” Marx said. “I've come to the conclusion that there really is no formula for success, yet I will share some ground rules that I have used as a guide that I believe can have a positive impact on everyone's journey through life.”

Jon Mertz, Corepoint Health vice president of marketing, said he is excited to have Marx speak at their annual user conference because his approach to nurturing leaders and team members are important attributes that so often get buried in society’s prevalent “me-first” attitude toward life and career accomplishments.

“Ed Marx is an outstanding example of healthcare executive leadership in the U.S. Bringing his experiences, inside and outside of health IT, to our customers will set the tempo for our interactions and conversations,” said Mertz. “We are looking forward to learning from Ed Marx and his energizing message as we continue to connect our healthcare community for more engaged care.”
