Dallas – Aug. 28, 2013 – Business systems expert and health care change advocate Elizabeth Stefanski will speak about the importance of human-centered design October 4 at Corepoint Connect 13, Corepoint Health’s user group conference. Corepoint Connect 13 will be held October 2-4 in Plano, Texas.
Stefanski is the chief market maker at the Business Innovation Factory in Providence, R.I., where she helps business leaders discover innovative ways to create change through disruptive business models. A majority of her work is focused in the Business Innovation Factory’s Patient Experience Lab, which explores how health care systems can move beyond sick care to a system focused on wellness.
“I have spent my career creating innovative platforms for social change, which is why I’m particularly excited about speaking to the health IT professionals at Corepoint Connect. There is more potential for social change on a large scale in health IT than probably any other industry,” Stefanski said. “I believe the world needs more ‘market makers’ and fewer ‘share takers,’ and health technology really has the potential to completely disrupt the status quo.”
Stefanski has worked and spoken in more than 20 countries. She currently lives in Providence, R.I.
Jon Mertz, vice president of marketing, said Corepoint Health invited Stefanski to serve as the conference’s keynote speaker because her work in disruptive innovation will particularly appeal to health IT professionals.
“A large percentage of the changes occurring in our nation’s health care system rely on improvements in health technology and how data is exchanged between caregivers,” Mertz said. “I believe Elizabeth’s message will inspire conference attendees as they go back to their hospitals and clinics, where they are building the very IT systems and data exchange architectures that are modernizing the health system.”
The Corepoint Health User Group consists of customers and Corepoint Health experts who share advice and ask specific questions about Corepoint Integration Engine and health IT topics. Corepoint Connect 2013 will be held at the Marriott at Legacy Town Center and will include formal training sessions on Corepoint Integration Engine, health information exchange, and other relevant healthcare integration topics.
